ManufactureQuote - Feature Playbook

Who it is for

Built for manufacturers who quote custom work

The problem

Core workflow

1Create a quote from a reusable template, pattern, or blank job
2Add materials, labour/processes, setup time, run time, subcontract, freight, and custom lines
3Review pricing and totals as you build
4Check required details before sending
5Generate a clean customer proposal that hides internal costs and supplier prices
6Mark the quote sent so the sent snapshot is frozen
7Customer reviews the proposal and accepts or declines
8Accepted quote locks so the accepted version cannot be changed
9Workshop job sheet is generated from the accepted snapshot
10After production, enter actual costs and compare to what was quoted

Costing engine

✓Materials: flat quantity, weight-based, sheet-style calculations, and waste factor
✓Labour and processes: setup time, run time per unit, and minimum charge
✓Machine time: machine rate and operator rate separately
✓Subcontract and outwork: buy price, markup, and minimum charge
✓Freight and delivery: quoted as a separate controlled line
✓Miscellaneous and manual lines: flat price with markup
✓Assemblies: reusable bundles of materials and processes added with one click

Snapshot integrity

✓When you mark a quote sent, the proposal is frozen as a snapshot
✓If you edit the quote after sending, you must resend before accepting it
✓A dirty sent quote cannot be accepted
✓When the customer accepts, the accepted snapshot becomes the production reference
✓Accepted quotes cannot be edited like drafts
✓Changing customer details, rates, or Library records later does not affect accepted quotes
✓The accepted snapshot is the authoritative record for job sheet, actuals, and audit

Job sheets

✓Job sheet is generated from the accepted quote snapshot
✓Shows materials to pick, process steps, production notes, and subcontract items
✓Shows QA checklist, delivery notes, assigned department or person where captured
✓Keeps customer pricing away from the workshop floor
✓Printable layout for the workshop floor

What is not included

✓Not a broad operations platform; it focuses on quote workflow control
✓Not a replacement for your finance system
✓Not a shop-floor planning tool
✓Not a design-file interpretation tool
✓Not a full customer relationship platform; lightweight customer and contact management only
